Hong Kong Resort Co forms new unit to revamp Discovery Bay, seeks media and PR partners

Hong Kong Resort Company has appointed Charlotte Ho (pictured) as deputy general manager of brand and marketing, a new department set up by the company to boost Discovery Bay’s image as a lifestyle destination.

Ho said INTERACTIVE-MARKETING that the new six-member team will work on plans to strengthen Discovery Bay’s position in the city’s tourism landscape, providing leisure, dining and hospitality experiences in an exotic environment. “We want local Hong Kongers and overseas visitors to know that Discovery Bay is not just a residential area for expatriates. Here they can have many experiences. We hope to invite visitors to celebrate their happy times with their families and beloved friends in Discovery Bay,” Ho said.

She added that Discover Bay was recruiting PR and media agencies for future collaborations, as Discovery Bay will “aggressively revamp the area into a destination for everyone.”

Ho joined Hong Kong Resort Company as the Director of Hospitality, Marketing and Membership at Auberge Hospitality, the hospitality arm of Hong Kong Resort Company in 2019. In this role, she was responsible for overseeing hotel functions. membership and marketing brands under Auberge Hospitality, including Auberge Discovery Bay Hong Kong, Discovery Bay Recreation Club, Club Siena, Discovery Bay Golf Club, DB Ice Rink, Lantau Yacht Club and Peony Chinese Restaurant. After more than two years and seven months, Ho was promoted to her new position on April 1. Currently, she is responsible for leading the new department to drive new initiatives.

Ho has also worked for other hotel brands in the city. She was Group Director of Marketing at the Gold Coast Hotel where she promoted the Gold Coast of Hong Kong as an ideal beach destination for holidays, leisure, events and resort living. The development includes a 453-room resort hotel, shopping mall, yacht and country club and residences. Ho also worked at Hong Kong Resort Company early in his career.

She was a member of Hong Kong Resort Company’s Discovery Bay founding destination marketing team from 2007 to 2015, when she was instrumental in positioning and establishing Discovery Bay as a leisure destination. in Hong Kong, introducing and hosting large-scale and iconic events, including Easter. Egg hunt, Sunday market, summer fun on the beach. Additionally, Ho worked for the Hong Kong Tourism Board for over eight years in different marketing roles in Hong Kong and Sydney.
