HONG KONG and SINGAPORE, November 13, 2020 / PRNewswire / – The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and Singapore Tourism Board (STB) have announced a collaboration to host the launch of the Hong Kong-Singapore (ATB) air travel bubble, ahead of the departure of the first flights at 22 november, 2020.
The Hong Kong-Singapore air travel bubble – a bilateral, multi-purpose, quarantine-free deal – is a milestone for the global tourism industry and paves the way for a safe resumption of international travel. The partnership between the HKTB and the STB is also the first between the two tourist offices. It demonstrates the close ties between the two destinations as well as a mutual commitment to provide visitors with a safe travel experience.
The Executive Director of HKTB, Mr. Dane cheng said: “I am delighted to see the resumption of travel between Hong Kong and Singapore. The health and safety of residents and travelers remain a key priority. To provide visitors with peace of mind, both destinations have already implemented city-wide certification programs for health and safety. The HKTB deployed the Certification system for anti-epidemic hygiene measures to ensure that every point of contact along the visitors’ journey is covered by anti-epidemic measures. During this time, that of Singapore SG clean is a national mark of excellence awarded to companies through Singapore – including tourist establishments – which meet its high standards of hygiene and disinfection.
As part of the partnership, the tourism offices of the two cities will undertake joint promotional activities such as coordinated social media content. The two tourist offices have also prepared special gifts to welcome the first group of visitors to the ATB, such as a limited edition reusable face mask that showcases the unique aspects of the two cities. Travelers on the first ATB flights departing from the two cities on 22 november will also be treated to a special in-flight menu that includes local favorites from Hong Kong and Singapore, organized by Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines. This menu will be available on all ATB flights until the end of this year.
