Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) Announces Relaunch Plan with Exciting Developments

Published on: Friday, May 13, 2022

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has announced a relaunch plan that showcases Hong Kong’s exciting developments and new experiences. The plan aims to create a positive mood and make Hong Kong a destination of choice for tourists around the world when travel resumes.

The fifth wave of the pandemic is gradually waning. Daily life and economic activities in Hong Kong are slowly returning to normal, allowing large-scale events and welcoming visitors again.

Under the theme “Together towards new horizons”, Tourism Update 2022 brought together 3,200 sales representatives from travel agencies, attractions, hotels, airlines, retailers, restaurants and meeting planners and exhibitions from Hong Kong, mainland China and overseas markets. The HKTB highlighted the latest tourism trends and its work program for the coming year.

HKTB Chairman Dr. YK Pang spoke about Hong Kong’s return to regularity.

Throughout the pandemic, Hong Kong has never stopped building and improving its tourism infrastructure. Shortly in the summer, there will be the inauguration of the Hong Kong Palace Museum, and the third runway of Hong Kong International Airport is expected to become operational within the next two years. Thanks to these new infrastructure developments and the help of the central governments and the Hong Kong SAR, Hong Kong remains strong and can walk towards new horizons with confidence!

When social distancing measures are further relaxed, HKTB will hold more world-class events in phases, including Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival like Hong Kong Sevens.
